Accounting Manager

 

New Form is seeking a roll-up-your-sleeves Accounting Manager to drive all aspects of our accounting function. You will book transactional level activities and close the books, but you will also design processes and controls and research technical accounting issues. As a critical member of a cutting edge startup, you will also gain exposure to other elements of the business as your career grows alongside the company.

What you’ll do​:

  • Lead daily/weekly/monthly transaction posting as well as monthly close process including consolidation reporting and supporting schedules
  • Liaise with production accounting for proper information exchange and GAAP compliant representation in financial statements
  • Manage, and in some cases perform, accounts payable, receivable and treasury duties
  • Research and document technical accounting positions and compose accounting memos
  • Map and document processes and evaluate internal controls to implement improvements
  • Assist with new systems implementation and reporting tools

What you’ll need to have​:

  • 5-7 years professional experience
  • Public accounting, accounting manager, or controller positions in your background
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong systems capabilities [- MS Navision experience a huge plus]
  • Familiarity with ASC research, writing technical accounting memos and internal controls evaluation
  • TV / Film production industry experience helpful
  • Ability to shift from being in the weeds to the clouds and back again on a daily basis
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves in a lean environment and tackle matters outside area of expertise

Manager, HR

 

The Human Resources Manager will report into the General Counsel. The HR Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function specializing in recruitment, compliance, employee relations and culture. We are looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of HR experience within a production or studio who can appreciate a fast paced start-up environment.

What you’ll do​:

  • Spearhead formalized recruitment process across the company, with data, tracking, goals and clear communication to executive team.

  • Manage all employee relations matters, including without limitation, field and answer questions related to employment; including benefits, payroll, onboarding, policies, compliance, workers comp.

  • Manage the bi-annual review and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.

  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization’s wage and salary program.

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance. Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.

  • Communicates changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.  Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the General Counsel, on personnel matters.

  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities or personnel matters.

  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.

  • Maintains company’s human resource information system that meets the organization’s personnel information needs.

  • Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
  • Conduct investigations related to workplace fraud, harassment, discrimination and safety.
  • Embody our culture through behavior and interactions and formalize New Form’s wellness, culture, and philanthropy initiatives.
  • Invite and promote constructive and ongoing feedback.

What you’ll need to have​:

  • HR expertise, business acumen, critical evaluation, ethical practice, refined communication skills, leadership and navigation and relationship management.

  • You need to have a calm and professional demeanor that invites trust among employees. Knowledge of safety requirements and training; including DOT, OSHA, etc

  • Assist with Banking activities like setting up new accounts, adding new signatures, bank reconciling items, banking fees, positive pay exceptions, etc.

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements.

  • Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards.

  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures

  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.

  • Prepares and records asset, liability and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.

  • Assists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports and Trial Balance. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.

  • Assist with completion of the quarterly if any and annual regulatory filings; preparation of assigned Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statement pages/schedules.

  • Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.

What you’ll need to have​:

  • 1.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 8+ years of experience working in accounting or a related financial area

  • Must be proficient in Windows, Excel, and Word.

Director, Business Operations

 

New Form’s business team is seeking a Director who will be an exceptional addition. As a Director, Business Operations, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and be an integral part of the group responsible to make New Form’s various business processes, planning efforts, content operations and data operations.

You will assist the VP of Finance and Chief Operating Officer with the strategy, plan and daily management of New Form’s various business process. In addition, you’ll work closely with all New Form business units to streamline operations, including our process transformation roadmap, project portfolio, and special projects. The successful candidate will be expected to be energetic and innovative, as well as to problem solve, recommend solutions, and exercise good business judgment in decision-making on a continuous basis.

Candidates that have previous experience in production, entertainment or production environments will be especially relevant for this role.

The right person for this role is a self-starter, eager to learn, well-versed in the digital media and entertainment ecosystem and experienced in navigating cross-functional relationships within and outside an organization. She/He has exceptional communication and organizational skills and is able to work with to build consensus around mutually beneficial opportunities. Finally, she/he thinks big, learns quickly, and is eager to grow our business relationships.

What you’ll do​:

  • Own, strategize and then execute on a key set of operations projects, including consolidation of business unit process into cross-functional workflow.

  • Define content operations, including writing process and defining projects that establish best practices for New Form content.

  • Establish New Form data projects, especially in regards to talent identification and distribution metrics.

  • Provide operational insight for larger business objectives.

  • Maintain cross-team alignment across different initiatives, both internally and externally.

  • Communicate tech challenges and business requirements effectively to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Establish collaborative cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders on the Development, Programming, Production, Marketing, Legal and Finance teams to help execute on key busines initiatives.

  • Conduct reporting and data analysis to analyze partner performance, identify potential opportunities and provide key requirements to technical teams to establish relevant partner tracking mechanisms.

  • Collaborate across functions and sites to harmonize requirements and solutions.

  • Maintain a global network of matrixed stakeholders, super users, and subject matter experts associated with all new Form Form business operations.

  • Minimize the customization of solutions.
  • Achieve a high level of standardization in systems and processes.

What you’ll need to have​:

  • 7+ years’ overall experience, preferred background and degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or Management.

  • Excellent communicator, with proven skills in consulting with internal business clients and external suppliers. Cross-cultural experience.

  • Proven project management skills.

  • Ability to drive change and improve the end-to-end process.

  • Proficient with data analysis and problem solving.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions.

Given that New Form’s focus is scripted digital originals, the ideal candidate has experience in creating, pitching and supporting narrative-driven digital productions.

Reporting to the VP of Brand Partnerships, the Director of Brand Partnerships will be responsible for developing and managing a large book of accounts across a wide array of categories and territories.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive revenue through building, managing and growing national brand advertising and agency business.  
  • Deliver marketing solutions for client in the form of Branded Integrations, Branded Entertainment, Branded Content, Sponsorships, and Vignettes.
  • Develop and execute short term as well as long term marketplace strategies.
  • Maintain cross functional relationship within New Form.
  • Serve as an expert in the branded content and integration space within the marketplace.
  • Accurately manage account projections and forecasting.
